We always strive to deliver top quality wood working designs to our clients.
Research is the first step of the process for us. We want to find out exactly what you want, how you want it built, how you want it to look, what kind of materials you'd prefer, how you wish it to be finished, and then we will move on to the next step; estimates.
The following step would be to design a project around your specific wants and needs. I like to start by drawing the design out on paper, and then transfer the design into photoshop. The design will tell me what materials I will need, what dimensions will work, and how to correctly assemble the project.
After the design is finished, and has been approved by the client. Afterwards, we will start estimating the cost of materials and labor to present the client with. If the client agrees to the price presented, we begin gathering materials.
Gathering the materials might be the easiest part of the job. Most of the wood, fasteners, finishes, and tools can be found locally. The majority of the projects we build are designed using pine wood, but we can definitely find and use any kind of wood you prefer; if you're willing to agree to the premium wood cost, that is.
Once the materials have been delivered to the shop, we will start working on our wood cutting list. We always cut our wood first, lay it out, and that is to ensure our design is sound. The project will go through the processes of planing, sanding, and final touches before assembly. We like to use dowel joinery in our work, and they have been shown to be just as strong as a finger join or lap join.
The hardest part of the project is finishing the project properly. We need to get the right color stain to meet your needs, the product needs time to dry, and we then apply a clear coat. The clear coat will go through at least 3 stages; 1st application, sanding, and 2nd application. We will repeat the process until we reach a smooth classy finish.
After the finish has dried properly, we will load up the product, and deliver to your door step. We will even help you install the project, if you wish, but there is an additional $20 per/hr for installation per man.
